Für die Boutique-Hotelmarke Aethos Hotels habe ich in meiner Rolle als Creative Director bei der Agentur Marken von Freunden eine Magazin-Serie entwickelt, die die Marke Aethos greifbar und erlebbar macht.

Die Reihe umfasst aktuell 5 Ausgaben, die an ausgewählten Standorten wie London, Mailand, Champoluc, Ericeira, Sardinien, Mallorca, Korsika und Umbrien ausliegen.

Aethos steht für bewusst gestaltete Rückzugsorte für „conscious explorers“ – Reisende, die Kultur, Natur und persönliches Wachstum schätzen. Jedes Magazin widmet sich einem übergeordneten Thema und beleuchtet es in wiederkehrenden Rubriken wie Club, Culinary, Design, Culture und Well-Being.

Der Claim „The rules are different here“ spiegelt sich auch im Editorial Design wider: Statt steifer Hochglanz-Ästhetik transportieren mutige Layouts, authentische Fotografie und handgefertigte Illustrationen die entspannte, unkonventionelle Atmosphäre der Aethos-Häuser. Frühstück mit Aperitif? Eis zum Abendessen? Später ins Bett? Alles Teil des Lifestyles – weit weg von klassischen Hotelnormen.
So wird aus jedem Magazin weit mehr als nur ein Gäste-Guide: Es ist ein Blick in die Welt einer Marke, die Freiheit, Achtsamkeit und Individualität feiert.

Als Creative Director habe ich dieses Projekt eigenverantwortlich betreut – von Konzeption und Artdirection bis zur finalen Umsetzung. Auch die Illustrationen, wie zum Beispiel in Ausgabe No. 5 auf Seite 33, durfte ich gestalten. Über die Zeit der Zusammenarbeit hat sich die Magazinreihe kontinuierlich weiterentwickelt – mit neuen Layouts, frischen Inhalten und einer immer stärkeren visuellen Handschrift.

Binsurfen Kalender 2023

12 individuell gestaltete Rückseiten für den Binsurfen Kalender 2024. Farben als auch Texturen sind Grundlage für das Artwork auf der Rückseite und greift damit den Charakter der Vorderseite auf.

Goldau & Noelle

Next to our home, the forest is the perfect place to find peace. Even better when the best of both worlds come together. This is made possible by the furniture manufactory Goldau & Noelle . Through minimalist design and natural materials, the duo has already worked its way up to the „Schöner Wohnen“ reader circle. We think that the philosophy of the brand is determined by dedication and genuine craftsmanship. For the redesign, we therefore developed a color world based on nature. This is contrasted with a contemporary sanserif, made of clear geometric shapes. By eliminating superfluous decorative elements, the result is a strong communication that focuses on the brand products. I was allowed to work on this project under the direction of Marken von Freunden Agency.

Moto Guzzi California

For Studio Oeding, I developed the editorial design of a large-format motorcycle book for Moto Guzzi. Just like the motorcycle, it is casual and fast, yet stylish and luxurious, the perfect combination of Italian elegance and American casualness. This first standard work on Moto Guzzi California was published for the 50th anniversary by Delius Klasing Verlag. The motorcycle journalists Dirk Mangartz and Stephan H. Schneider present the complete history of the Italian cult bike.

Pulk Magazine Issue 1.

Print is not dead! This is the reason I dedicated my diploma to magazine culture and fulfilled a long-standing dream of mine. Our first issue’s main story is about the Baltic Sea and its various blooming surf scenes. Never before has someone tried to find the remote surf scenes along the eastern Baltic coast and connect it to the rest of the European Baltic Sea. Along refreshing interviews and insights, the magazine also contains stories about a couple of other people and photographers that truly inspire us.

Pulk is an independent magazine that tells stories that have never been heard but should be. People and the sea.

224 pages, almost more the size of A3 than A4 140g recycled paper, eco ink wrapped into a soft touch cover. Sensuality makes sense!

And then there was a lot of motion in the ocean.

Headache Booklet

Surfing in Germany can be as cold and shitty as it gets.

As a proud member of the Binsurfen crew, I designed the Logo and the DVD Booklet for the cold water movie Headache. The movie explores the icy northern hemisphere of Europe. Travelling Germany, Denmark, Scotland and Iceland, discovering impressive landscape and surfing locations that have never been surfed before is our way to cope with the cold.
